Sanitars was born in 1971 and began its activity producing sanitary cotton-wool, cord cotton for ear-cleaners, discs, and cotton flock.

Over the years innovation has been the focus in order to be the first company in the world to perfect discs employing “water tangled” technology, revolutionising the market with new, high quality products.
During this time, Sanitars considerably strengthened its cotton cord production, very rapidly becoming the absolute leader in Italy.

While strengthening its production technologies – some of the most advanced in Europe – Sanitars decided to approach the European market with its own brand and as a partner in realizing private labels.

The current production capacity is of around 30 million packs of 80 discs per year, with the possibility of creating special formats, cotton flock and sanitary cotton-wool in parallel.

2004 saw the perfection of the new IDROCLEAN ® technology for pure cotton web production, suitable for making tissues, napkins, cloths and cleansing wipes.

Sanitars has the mission of completely satisfying customer requirements, with high and constant quality personalised products, paying maximum attention to innovation without ignoring the environment in which it works.

The company is naturally ISO 9001:2000 certified by DNV and has brilliantly passed many audits by external organisations commissioned by customers.
